A little graphic of the ski mountaineering route today, Cypress N1, Pretty mechanized area, but we hit it just right. 850 m Descent from the Peak. Super Stable today, good temps.
I have to say, that it is a battle for me and getting a good boot fit and stopping blisters. I have finally found the perfect set-up:
La Sportiva Spectre Alpine Touring Boots, super stiff, rockered grippy outsole, lightest, most flexible and best priced boot on the market. I have not found a shell that does not need some sort of “Work” for everyone I talk to and these are no exception. I punch these out myself in the toe box (I have wide feet) at home in my shop with at combination of a heat gun and press, mold the liners in the oven.
Smart Wool PHD Light Cushion Merino Blend Compression ski socks. No blisters–Ever. Good support and recovery.
Montrail Heat Moldable Insole—A must and most ofter overlooked part of the boot system. I wasted loads of money on sure foot insoles and they were crap. These are $40 and are the best. I have them in my mountain boots as well as my daily wear boots.
